Born January 28, 2008
7 lbs 8 oz

I just got home tonight and Im very tired after spending 4 days in the hospital. Brittany went in on Monday to be induced and ended up having an emergency c-section due to a prolasped cord. Baby and Mom are now doing well, considering the trauma that happened before the birth of Nic. I thank God for his mercy and grace. I want to thank everyone for their prayers.

Wont be blogging for a few days....

Well it's Sunday and no baby....soooo, Brittany is scheduled to be induced tommorow morning. We have to be at the hospital at 5 am, and they will start the induction then. We are asking that you would pray everything will go smoothe, no complications with her or the baby and that the delivery would be quick with no c-sections. I will try to keep you updated .

Just checking in , Brittany hasn't had the baby yet, but she is having contractions. She has a dr appointment tommorow with the OB, we are praying he will be in the right postion, and she will have a quick and safe delivery. Pray also that we will get the right nurses, the ones there are not really friendly. I will keep you posted....

Taking some time off....

We spent most of the day in the hospital with my oldest daughter, and Brittany is due today. So I need to take a few days off from blogging and the computer. We are reading the Little House Books and my older kids we're commenting how they remember reading those books so they all came in the living room and listened as I read them to the little guy's....I guess you never get too old to be read to?

God is too good to be unkind and He is too wise to be mistaken. And when we cannot trace His hand, we must trust His heart.

Beautiful Day Today....

Ohh boy, was it cold yesterday. I had to get my eyes examined due to dd-11 sat on my glasses a while back and broke my glasses...so I have to get a stronger prescription this time. He could'nt believe how my eyes got worse in 18 mos time? I think its from looking at this computer screen too much...My dr's sons live in north GA where we used to live, he told me they we're getting lotts of snow. ::sniff:: ::sniff:: I miss the mountains so much....

I plan this week to let the children if time permits to draw some of the beautiful birds that have been out since turning cold. They are so beautiful, so I will be letting them get their sketch books out tomorow as we take a nature walk ( while dd-20 gets some walking in too, hoping Nicholas will come soon!!!

It's going to be 26* tonight, I thought we would have some snow flurries last night, it was so cold out and sleeting. We took a walk through our neighborhood mall so dd-20 could get some walking done. Praying for a safe and healthy delivery of grandson #2.

Baby News......

baby

Today Brittany had her OB appt, she is now 1 cm dialated. So we will be doing a lott of walking, evening primrose oil and red rasberry tea and hopefully little Nicholas will be here soon. We are excited!!! This will be our second grandson in 1 year. YIPPEE....I thought my kids we're fun....Isaac my grandson is hilarious, Im going to post his newest video soon.

We got a lott of schoolwork done this week, I started a new book with Noah who is dyslexic. The book is called, The Dyslexic Workbook....at first I did't like it but it makes a lott of sense after using it a few days and beats paying $400 for a reading program. Sometimes I think if we would just pray and trust the leading of the Holy Spirit we would save a lott of money and aggravation. I always pray before I buy curriculum and every time the Lord is so gracious in helping me to buy the right things for my children.

I have on my list this week to buy new Bibles for the children, I have been working on all of us taking our Bibles out while reading our lessons and this Michalea (autistic) has began reading her Bible before going to bed, I sit down by her while she reads to me...the Lord has really been speaking to me about this for sometime. Also we will be learning the books of the Bible, I copied some really neat little cards off the net that tells a little about each Book of the Bible.

I believe teaching your children the word while their young, even if they don't understand is important, God's word does not return void. Even though some of my older children aren't living for the Lord right now, they still remember God's word and stories and people I read about when they we're younger. Even though Ive been homeschooling 20 years the Lord is still teaching me new things about his word.

Children

Photobucket

If I had my child to raise all over again,
I'd finger paint more, and point the finger less.
I'd do less correcting, and more connecting.
I'd take my eyes off my watch, and watch with my eyes.
I would care to know less, and know to care more.
I'd take more hikes and fly more kites.
I'd stop playing serious, and seriously play.
I'd run through more fields, and gaze at more stars.
I'd do more hugging, and less tugging.
I would be firm less often, and affirm much more.
I'd build self-esteem first, and the house later.
I'd teach less about the love of power.
And more about the power of love.
